Kaizen (改善), is the Japanese word for "continual improvement ". In
business, kaizen refers to activities that continuously improve all
functions and involve all employees from the CEO to the assembly line
workers.
JASTECA Institute of
Management (JIM) is the management training arm of JASTECA. JIM was
formed to provide training to Sri Lankan business organizations –
especially corporates – for their supervisory, operational management
and senior management cadres.
JIM conducts both public and
in-house programs on a wide spectrum of topics as follows: Japanese
Techniques of Management, Leadership, Motivation, Supervisory Skills
Development, Human Resource Management, Secretarial Skills, Production
Management, Marketing Management, Project Management etc. Management
training programs are conducted in English whilst programs focusing on
operational managers and supervisors are conducted bilingually in
English/Sinhala. JIM also undertakes to deliver customized training
programs to suit the internal in-house training needs of its clients.
JIM enlists the services of high caliber resource persons of proven
track record with required academic excellence and adequate practical
exposure. While one day seminars/workshops have proved very successful,
JIM also organizes short duration programs of a few days.
JIM has
trained about 2500 participants during the past two years alone. With
JASTECA’s emphasis on inculcating Japanese Management Techniques amongst
Sri Lankan business entities, JIM has vigorously conducted in-depth
training programs in 5S, Kaizen, Quality & Productivity Enhancement
etc.
