Lake Nest Bolgoda Resort is located on the luscious banks of the
Bolgoda Lake which is the largest natural lake in Sri Lanka. With this
lake-front location comes a responsibility to conserve and sustain
Bolgoda's natural beauty and our self imposed obligation to reduce the
waste of resources. Everything from the foundations of the building to
the day-to-day running of the resort is designed with this in mind.
The entire resort's hot water production is done through our
sophisticated roof-top solar heating solution. The majority of Lake Nest
is illuminated by LED lighting, reducing 80% of conventional power
consumption. The added bonus of near-zero heat emission reduces the
night air-conditioning requirements by 30%. Key tag activated isolators
terminate the total power to each room when left unoccupied. Sewage and
liquid waste are treated before disposal via an on-site STP. Waste is
colour separated and passed on to authorities for recycling/disposal in
an environmentally friendly manner.
